Red Haired Gil concerns a Wall Street broker whose love life is in a rut due to an incident in her youth that she has suppressed but has yet to come to terms with. When an event shocks her into "wokeness", she sets out to find the daughter she gave up for adoption, a path that leads her back to the girl's father, the Psychology professor that seduced and impregnated her as a college freshman.

Age 42, tells the story to a detective as it is enacted as well as being involved in the enactment. Must have a lot of range and be able to switch gears frequently.
Role: Prof. Alan Richmond
Portrayed at age 40 and age 60. Charismatic and attractive,secure in his job, long term marriage to a strong woman but lots of affairs on the side, the world is his playground.
Role: Edward "Ham" Hammerstein
Ham is a 23 year old musical theater actor in New York. His dad, Prof. Richmond, would rather he went to law school. One day working as a barista he meets an older woman. When it turns out she has a history with his father, things get really complicated.
Role: Arnie Coombs
Alan's best friend Arnie, at 40 and 60, is also a professor at NYU. Arnis is black and his wife June is white, and they have a red haired adopted daughter Carly. Arnie is the only one who know about Alan's affairs, and their reveal leads to the climax.
Who We Are
I held two development workshops of the play in 2018 and gathered survey responses from the invited audiences of around 20 people each time. Most of the cast from the two workshop productions will be returning.
Mitch Moldofsky is a Toronto-based writer and director. who has spent his life attempting to balance those passions with his day job. He previously produced a full length play BROTHERS and wrote the Toronto Fringe play HOW TO MAKE A SOUFFLE, which he also made as a short film. His short film, THE BRISS, a tragicomedy about a breakup, played for several years on the Sundance Channel.
